Work Hours: Must be available to work 6 days a week between Monday – Sunday
Anticipated Start Date: June 8, 2026
The Summer Food Services Coordinator oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of camp meal programs, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and dietary requirements. The role provides leadership and guidance to the food services team, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment. It ensures compliance with food safety, health, and administrative procedures while maintaining efficient day-to-day kitchen operations. The position emphasizes building and sustaining positive relationships with campers, staff, volunteers, families, and community partners.
In this role, you will:
- Plan and coordinate meal programs in collaboration with the Food Services Director, including planning, preparing, and serving camp meals with the kitchen team in an efficient and engaging manner
- Supervise the Food Services team on a day-to-day basis, providing coaching, support, and guidance in collaboration with the Food Services Director
- Manage food substitutions for guests with dietary restrictions and cultural needs, ensuring awareness of allergies and provision of appropriate alternatives
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time, including kitchen paperwork, documentation supporting performance appraisals, and accident/incident forms as required
- Maintain and enforce Health & Safety procedures, including outbreak management guidelines, and ensure the kitchen and camp environment remain clean, organized, and safe for campers, staff, and volunteers
- Maintain a high level of food safety practices, role-modeling standards and ensuring all team members comply with food safety policies and procedures
- Attend all staff trainings and meetings, arriving on time and actively participating to contribute to the development of all staff members
- Build and maintain relationships with campers, staff, volunteers, families, members, and community partners
- Support kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness, including washing dishes and general kitchen upkeep as required
- Act as a positive role model for all participants and staff by embodying the values of the YMCA, Pine Crest’s guiding principles, YMCA policies and procedures, and Ontario Camps Association guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
