Experience
• Responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the road network
• Oversee winter road maintenance activities to meet or exceed minimum maintenance standards
• Develop and implement project plans for infrastructure improvements and/or maintenance.
• Oversee and inspect maintenance activities of our water/sewer infrastructure by the Ontario Clean Water Agency
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Perform routine infrastructure inspections to ensure all roads, traffic control measures, side-walks, lighting, signs, storm water systems and parks meet or exceed standards
• Ensure proper documentation and record keeping to prove Due Diligence
• Provides input into operating and capital budgets for all public works related activities.
• Negotiate contracts and supervise Contractors.
• Supervise public works staff.
• Attends Council Meetings to provide reports and input to Council on agenda items.
• Stay current with local, provincial, and federal regulations pertaining to public works and infrastructure.
• Create equipment maintenance schedules and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate emergency public works response efforts during natural disasters or unforeseen events in coordination with the Emergency Working Control Group.
• Investigate and respond to complaints from the Public.
