HOURS OF WORK: 40 Hours per week (shift work and weekends)
Wasauksing First Nation is now seeking applicants for the Summer Work Experience
Program 2024. Applications are now being accepted for the potential following positions:
Administration (Health, Lands, Social)
➢ assist the administration staff will filing, answering phones, greeting visitors, data
entry.
➢ perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Beach Patrol
➢ maintenance of Wasauksing First Nation beaches (cut grass, raking, garbage
disposal)
➢ sale of Wasauksing First Nation Land Use Permits to users of beaches
➢ must have Boater’s Safety License
Daycare Classroom Supports
➢ assist the classroom teachers with tending to childcare needs
➢ perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Land Based – Health
➢ assist the health team with land-based activities for community.
➢ perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Maintenance Workers & Waste Trafer Station
➢ assist in the janitorial services to any Wasauksing First Nation buildings (wash floors, wash windows, empty garbage cans).
➢ assist in the maintenance of grounds around community buildings.
Youth Program Supports
➢ assist the youth workers with tending to youth program needs.
➢ perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Summer student spots will be dependent on the department’s needs and
funding available, space is limited for 2024 positions.

To qualify for the Summer Work Experience Program 2023, an individual MUST meet the following criteria:
➢ Students must be 15 and 30 years of age at the time of hiring;
➢ Students must have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year, and intending to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
➢ Be students in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program, but not attending full time classes while participating in their placement;
➢ Be legally entitled to work in Canada according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
➢ Must have banking info, Sin number, and Status card

Along with your resume, please include a cover letter which confirms that you meet the criteria to participate in the Summer Work Experience Program, and two references.
