Georgian Bay Public Library is looking for a summer student!
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Are you enthusiastic about learning, exploring new ideas, and technology? Do you have experience with kids and or running programs?
In this position you will work both independently and with the Library team on various projects including: registering children for the Summer Reading Club, program facilitation, and providing Library users assistance with technology like iPads and computers. Additionally the successful candidate will lead various outreach sessions across the Township including but not limited to visiting water access communities, providing library materials to Little Libraries, creating children’s activities for community events, and more!
Live at the cottage and commute to work by boat or car!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to be creative with program planning and implementation
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Experience with new technologies
- Ability to work enthusiastically and effectively with children of all ages, student volunteers, and adults
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi task and manage time accordingly
- Travel between branches is not required but will be considered an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS
Schedule: approximately 35 hours/week, including occasional evenings and weekends
Hourly Rate: $19.20 per hour
Date of Employment: May 26, 2025 - August 15, 2025 (flexible based on availability)
