About Macaulay Tree House Daycare:

Macaulay Tree House is a non-profit organization that is licensed by the Ministry of Education. The Day Nursery has been providing quality child care in our community since 1990. Macaulay Tree House prides itself on our exceptional programs and committed, hard-working staff. Being a part of our team will help you gain hands-on experience in the childcare and education fields. We have established and maintained great working relationships with various community supports, such as the staff at each school and the school board, as well as The District Municipality of Muskoka for their Assessment for Quality Improvement checks, Community Living, Simcoe Muskoka Family Connections, HANDS the Family Help Network, and the Ministry of Education. We are looking for hard-working, dependable, caring individuals who strive for excellence and aim to exceed expectations.

The summer camp provides support to families with children ages 4-8 years old by offering supervised activities that support the interests, skills and abilities of the children.

Reports To: School Age Program Supervisor

The Summer Camp Provider is responsible for:

  • The developmental needs and interests of each child in care.
  • Planning according to the philosophy of Macaulay Tree House
  • Gearing the program to the needs of individual children with concerns for their interests in learning.
  • Encouraging the growth of a warm, loving, nurturing environment, and treating each child with dignity and respect, encouraging positive self-esteem through day-to-day interaction.
  • Informing parents of their child's progress regarding the activities that they participate in.
  • Providing positive evaluation to all students.
  • Attending regular staff meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Arranging and implementing, with the School Age Program Supervisor, age-appropriate educational outings to promote community awareness.
  • Housekeeping duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid First Aid and Level C CPR Certificate.
  • The successful candidate must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate to both children and adults.

Qualifications Preferred but Not Required:

  • Early Childhood Education or equivalent (DSW, OCT, child & youth worker, etc.).

Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 7 weeks

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: Monck Public School

Expected start date: 2025-06-30
