Proline Rentals & Bins has locations in Port Carling, Parry Sound, Gravenhurst, and Orillia. We rent a wide range of small and large equipment, including excavators, sky jacks, bobcats, and lawn and garden equipment. We are currently seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair motorized and non-motorized power equipment, machinery, and tools. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues and perform the repairs necessary to keep our equipment running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with the lead mechanic
- Perform routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs
- Sharpen saw blades and other small equipment tools
- Test and inspect rental equipment after each rental period for damages and proper function
- Record any damages or malfunctions for management
- Repair or replace worn, defective, or broken parts
- Reassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used
What You Bring:
- Licensed Small Engine Mechanic or Apprentice
- Proficient with a variety of hand tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers and other tools
- Able to use compression gauges, ammeters, and voltmeters to test engine performance
- Experience with pneumatic tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Detail-oriented and dexterous
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs, and occasionally up to 80lbs and perform the essential duties of the position
