Description
The Muskoka Steamship Association is hiring crew, as soon as possible to join our Staff. As a member of our team, you’d be responsible for the preparation and delivery of events abroad to the historic Fleet. As the primary point of contact for our clients you will be addressing any issues that arise throughout the cruise, sharing the rich history of tourism in Muskoka.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure care, supervision and positive interactions with customers while cruises are underway.
- Prepare and deliver beverage and food service.
- Maintain and clean ships facilities so that they remain pristine and ready for cruises.
- Create a positive rapport with clients to provide world class customer service.
- Be aware of customers dietary/medical needs
- Attend all training sessions and regular meetings
- Keep accurate records, incident reports, report immediately to the Purser issues faced by customers while at sail.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High energy, self-starter
- Certified and up-to-date Smartserve
- Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Able to problem solve effectively
- Ability to observe/assess client’s behaviour, enforce safety regulations & emergency procedures and apply appropriate behaviour management techniques
- Physically able to provide care during emergency situations that may arise
- Having First Aid/Level C CPR certifications is an asset.
- Valid driver's license an asset
- Candidates should be prepared for physical labour of lifting, moving (chairs/tables, etc) and lots of walking (very active job)

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
