Ryde Community Co-op, Older Adult Program Facilitator
Job Status: Part-Time
Hours & Days of Work: Average of 15 hours per week
Salary: $25.00 per hour
Target Start Date: May 26th, 2025
The Ryde Community Co-op exists to serve the needs of its community.
The Ryde Co-op is a registered charity, 100% owned by its members and 100% run by its volunteers to provide social, wellness and educational programming for all ages. A recent designation of a Seniors Active Living Centre by the Government of Ontario, has enabled the Ryde Community Co-op to hire a facilitator who will be responsible for coordinating engaging events and programming for older adults at the Ryde Community Co-op. Older adults will have increased opportunities to participate in a wide variety of social programs and events to keep people engaged, active and well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Design and Implementation:
- Develop and implement, within a set budget, high-quality social, recreational, educational, health and wellness, and exercise based programming to meet the needs of diverse participants.
- Manage program logistics including; scheduling and compensation of instructors, presenters, and workshop leaders.
- Recruit, train and work with volunteers to assist with program delivery.
- Lead group activities and discussions to foster active participation.
- Participant Engagement:
- Create a welcoming and safe environment for all participants.
- Build and maintain a positive rapport with program participants, volunteers, members and program instructors.
- Update monthly Ryder newsletter, facebook and website program calendars.
- Data Collection and Evaluation:
- Perform office related tasks including; program registration, program attendance tracking, financial reports, scheduling of facility use.
- Collect and analyze data on program outcomes, impact and areas for program improvements.
- Track, monitor and report back on expenses against a pre-set budget.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Communicate program progress and updates to the Board of Directors.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Prepare participation and expense reports related to programs and events.
- Develop, build, and maintain partnerships with other community organizations.
Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent administrative, analytical and organization skills.
- Experience in collecting, compiling, and evaluating program data.
- Demonstrated leadership and group facilitation abilities.
- Technological proficiency: Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Mailchimp and Facebook.
Other:
Valid driver’s license.
Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector (Upon offer).
CPR C and AED Certification.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings.
