Description

This position is available for a six-month contract to support a leave of absence.  There may be the possibility of a contract extension. Minimum 2 days per week in office, number of hours flexible between 14 to 35 hours per week, occasional remote work a possibility. Salary range is $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending upon experience.

The Office and Finance Administrator will support the Georgian Bay Mnidoo Gamii Biosphere including its two business units - Generations Effect and Georgian Bay Tours. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager, Director of Operations, and the Executive Director in managing accounting operations and office management.  A willingness and interest in exploring and developing efficient office administration approaches is an asset. An adept problem solver, this position will work with staff teams in ensuring an energetic, fun, and vibrant workplace. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Bookkeeping & Financial Duties (80%)

  • Accounts Receivable, bank deposits and Accounts Payable
  • Assist with financial reports on projects and budgets
  • Managing expense claims and project claim adjustments
  • Provide input on financial policies and procedures and guide staff in appropriate implementation
  • Petty Cash reconciliations
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles an asset
  • Work closely with the Financial and Administrative Assistant
  • Other duties as assigned

    Office Management Duties (20%)
  • Perform day-to-day clerical and administrative tasks, including filing, maintaining administration files and record systems, and managing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Oversee office administrative procedures and review, evaluate and implement new procedures, and assist with staff inquiries as needed
  • Coordinate and plan for office services and upkeep including ordering supplies, managing relocations, and maintenance needs
  • Manage office assets including their purchasing, tracking, and reporting for year-end (i.e. computers, on-line software and app tracking and management)
  • Comfort with Project Management software is an asset
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Two to three years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration an asset
  • Reside, and be legally entitled to work in Canada

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient with MS Excel, Windows, Word and Google Suite
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and ADP an asset
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Team-player who can also work independently
  • Experience working in an office environment
