POSITION TITLE: Numeracy Lead
DURATION: 3 year Flexible-Part-Time contract
CLOSING: January 13, 2025
Position Summary:
Wasauksing First Nation is accepting applications for a Numeracy Lead. The Numeracy Lead will work in classrooms with teachers and students supporting literacy initiatives to impact student achievement in numeracy. He/she will provide leadership for professional development in the area of numeracy. Working collaboratively with a team of education professionals, the Numeracy Lead will demonstrate a strong commitment to learning.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The Numeracy Lead will perform tasks as assigned by the School Principal. These
tasks include but are not limited to the following:
• Lead school-wide numeracy assessment as required;
• Promote and deliver school, home, community math initiatives
• Work in classrooms with teachers and students to support numeracy development;
• Contribute to the delivery of professional development and coaching support for school staff and individual teachers;
• Monitor, assess, evaluate, and report on numeracy initiatives at the school;
• Support teachers to adjust instruction based on data;
• Maintain and submit records as outlined by the Numeracy Lead proposal;
• Plan and provide modelling, coaching, and planning with each teacher to implement effective math strategies;
• Gather, record analyze and share data related to Numeracy Achievement;
• Effectively deliver the Ontario Math Curriculum;
• Integrate cultural teachings & competencies into Mathematics curriculum where possible;
• Provide leadership in the collection, analysis, and interperation of data related to student achievement;
• Develop and maintain positive

• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Wasauksing First Nation and any other relevant policies and procedures from external agencies and partners
• Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor
Education & Experience:
• Ontario College of Teachers certification is required
• Experience with math curriculum, daily lesson planning and long-range planning
• Mathematics Additional Qualifications an asset
• Ability to speak, read and understand Anishnaabemowin (Ojibway Language) is an asset
Other Requirements:
• Knowledge of the development of mathematics concepts and skills at multiple levels
• Computer skills an asset.
• Valid driver license and reliable vehicle, an asset.
• Valid First Aid/CPR, an asset.
• Must have a proficient level of communication skills, verbal and written.
• Must possess excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of Wasauksing First Nation programs and services
• CPIC (Criminal records check) requirement if working with children or the elderly.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills an asset.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable personal vehicle
• Willing to work flexible hours as required, including evenings and weekends
• This position requires the individual to work with various families, youth and children. To protect children, youth and vulnerable persons, Wasauksing First Nation requires the individual to provide a vulnerable sector. Or criminal record check
