About Us

We are a small but growing insurance brokerage with offices across Central Ontario dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to our clients. As our organization expands, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team at our Bracebridge Office. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in our current accounting operations while building the foundation to step into a leadership role as the company continues to grow.

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll be both a strategic partner and a roll up your sleeves doer. You’ll oversee and execute daily accounting functions, provide accurate and timely reporting, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Over time, you’ll take on broader leadership responsibilities, helping shape the finance function as we scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including:
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for management.
  • Monitor cash flow and support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax filings, and insurance industry regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and refine accounting processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Partner with leadership to support strategic decision-making with financial insights.
  • Prepare for future growth by building scalable systems and processes.
  • Mentor and support future team members as the finance function expands.

What We’re Looking For

  • CPA designation with 10 years of business accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both hands-on accounting and financial leadership
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial and local requirements for financial reporting, and tax compliance
  • Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage both details and big picture priorities.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using accountings systems and an interest in streamlining processes.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a growth environment.

Why Us?

  • Play a key role in shaping the finance function of a growing insurance brokerage.
  • Opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the company expands
  • Collaborative, people-first team culture where we care and your work makes an impact
  • Competitive compensation package, including benefits and growth opportunities.
