Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) is looking for a self-motivated & energetic individual to join our industry-leading organization which works towards the delivery of high-quality services and programs to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury districts. Created by the provincial government, the DSB is responsible for overseeing and managing a range of services divested to the municipal order of government, including Ontario Works, Community Housing, Paramedic Services (Land Ambulance), Non-Urgent Patient Transportation, and Early Learning and Child Care Services.

Our Team

The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board is comprised of 14 board members and has been in existence for 25 years. With three main departments, Integrated Human Services, Paramedic Services, and Administration, and over 200 employees, we service a large geographical area totaling 45,000 square km. Our organization is responsible for the development and execution of annual budgets exceeding $50 million. The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a driven individual to join our team as a Maintenance Coordinator as part of our Infrastructure and Asset Management team.

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring all maintenance and repair activities across Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board facilities. This role ensures work orders are managed efficiently, contractors are scheduled and supervised, preventive maintenance programs are followed, and documentation is accurate and up to date. The Maintenance Coordinator acts as the primary point of contact between custodians, contractors, tenants, and management to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective maintenance operations.

In this position you will:

  • Receive, review, prioritize, and assign maintenance requests.
  • Schedule and coordinate custodial and contractor work to ensure timely completion.
  • Track progress of open work orders and ensure updates are recorded in the system.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are developed, implemented, and adhered to.
  • Coordinate contractor activities, including scheduling, access, and site safety compliance.
  • Review contractor performance and provide feedback to management.
  • Obtain quotes and ensure value-for-money services.

· Ensure maintenance work complies with applicable building codes, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.

· Monitor workplace safety practices and ensure corrective actions are taken when required.

· Maintain records of inspections, safety checks, and compliance documents.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs, and schedules.

· Prepare reports for management regarding outstanding work orders, budget usage, and contractor performance.

· Support capital planning by providing input on asset condition and anticipated repairs.

Qualifications and Specific Skills

Education: Post-secondary education in building maintenance, facility management, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, property management, or a related role.

A valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License with insured vehicle for employment related use is required.

Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, etc.).
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.

Annual Salary: $74,295.00 - $86,914.00 (35 hours per week)
