Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable 310T Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining commercial trucks to ensure that they meet safety standards for our drivers and customers. We expect that you will be working in compliance to our companies polices, safety regulations and Industry standards.

To obtain this role with in our company we will need proof of your 310T Mechanic license, as well as proof of at least 2 years experience in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis and Repairs: Conduct thorough diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks, to identify and resolve mechanical issues..
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, brake inspections, and engine tune-ups, to keep the fleet in optimal condition.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and inspections, and provide detailed reports as needed.
  • Adherence to Safety Standards: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and team members to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize fleet performance.
  • Equipment Inspections: Review pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven at least 2 years experience as a 310T Mechanic.
  • Possession of a valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with a variety of heavy-duty vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Skills/Requirements:

  • 310T License: A provincially recognized 310T Truck and Coach Technician license is mandatory.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid G class driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • Technical Knowledge: A thorough understanding of heavy-duty vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension, is essential.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic software and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are needed to identify and resolve mechanical problems efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with service advisors, drivers, and other team members is crucial.
  • Practical Experience: Experience in heavy truck repairs and maintenance is valuable.
  • Physical Stamina: The job can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy parts and work in various positions.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work independently and as part of a team is important.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is necessary for accurate diagnosis and repair.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: A natural aptitude for mechanical work and a willingness to learn and develop skills are beneficial.
  • Hand Tools: Possession of necessary hand tools is often a requirement.
  • Computer Literacy: Familiarity with diagnostic software and computer systems is increasingly important.
  • Safety Awareness: Commitment to safety protocols and procedures is essential.
