About Us:
AFC Inc Heavy Equipment Repair is a facility based out of Sundridge. We have been serving Muskoka to the North Bay area since 2016. We are currently looking for a hard working, organized mechanic, to help us grow our expanding team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable, heavy duty equipment mechanic. Able to work in a team or independently inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy mobile equipment - such as bulldozers, excavators, graders, loaders, and tractors - used in construction, mining, forestry, and materials-handling sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance: fluid changes, lubrication, equipment evaluations, etc
- Support diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and onboard computers
- Document all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company standards - work orders, parts used, hours logged
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace; attend PPE/safety trainings and follow health regulations
- Participate in training sessions and on-the-job development to progress through apprenticeship levels
- Collaborate with team members to learn best practices and develop mechanical skills
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with specific diagnostic systems, or OEM maintenance software
- Prior knowledge of welding, fabrication, and service calls is an asset
- Strong attention to detail in a fast paced work environment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable, organized, and trustworthy.
- Good physical condition and ability to perform physical tasks
