Job Details
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
1. Operate all aspects of the Marina in a safe, secure and efficient manner.
2. Open/close the Marina/Gas Bar and provide customers with fueling.
3. Perform debit/credit transactions, including end of shift transaction balancing, and keep records secure.
4. Dependable transportation or proximity to the marina is required.
5. Comply with the TSSA standards for fuel dispensing on water.
6. Direct customers to Infrastructure clerks requiring docking
7. Keep Marina office, washroom(s) and ground areas clean and maintained to ensure the buildings, docks and property are tidy, clean and professional in appearance.
8. Maintain landscaping, cut grass, weed, and trim trees.
9. Ensure all equipment is kept in good condition and that preventative measures are carried out and documented.
10. Attend training and development as required.
11. Assist other Town employees in daily maintenance and operations as as required
12. Assist with public inquiries and provide friendly, courteous customer
13. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as as assigned
14. Ability to electronically review work schedule, sign in and out, and communicate via text messaging.
15. Immediately report any issues to the Fleet and Yard Coordinator or Designate
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Must be a minimum of 16 years old by first scheduled day
2. High School Diploma; College or University education an asset
3. Previous Marina Gas Bar experience is considered an asset
4. Current First Aid and CPR level C is an asset
5. Previous retail experience is an asset
6. Ability to demonstrate tact, patience and poise when dealing with the public and effective interpersonal and customer service skills
7. Effective communication skills, both oral and written
8. Pleasure Craft Operator Card, Boat Operators Accredited training and Fuel Safety training is considered an asset
9. Ability to work early morning, weekend, evening and holiday hours, as required
10. Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively as part of a team
11. Must work in compliance with applicable legislation, departmental
policies/procedures/practices and operational guidelines
12. Willingness to attend job related training and development
13. Physically able to perform all job requirements
14. A valid, current police background check is required prior to commencing employment

PHYSICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS
Environment: Work is conducted outdoors, and staff will be required to work in adverse weather conditions; must possess tact, patience, poise when dealing with the public and other employees and must demonstrate professional behavior at all times.
Physical: Requirement for sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in the outdoors which include lifting, kneeling, bending and prolonged periods of time on your feet, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate equipment.
APPEARANCE STANDARDS
1. Appearance must be clean, neat, and well-groomed.
2. Golf type attire
3. Appropriate weather protective outerwear.
4. Dock style, non-slip, closed toe, slip on shoes are required. CSA approved safety footwear is preferred for some shore-based activities
REQUIRED DATES and HOURS
Work location: Muskoka Wharf Marina – Steamship Bay Road (Ditchburn Bay, Lake Muskoka), Gravenhurst
Start/End Dates: Orientation is Friday May 29, 2026. First full day of operation is Saturday May 30, 2026. Last day of operation is 6 pm, Monday Sept. 7, 2026.
