Front of House Host/Front Desk – Northridge Inn

Location: Northridge Inn, 712 S Lake Bernard Rd, Sundridge, ON Term: May – October 2025 (Part-Time to Full-Time) Compensation: $17.20–$21/hour (based on experience)
Are you a people-person who thrives in an active, guest-facing role? Northridge Inn is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front of House Host to be the welcoming face of our boutique lakeside resort. This role requires a passion for exceptional customer service, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a hands-on approach to hospitality. While some administrative duties are part of the position, the primary focus is on hosting, guest interactions, and creating memorable experiences for every visitor.

Role Responsibilities:
Customer Care:
● Act as the first point of contact for all guests, offering a warm welcome and personalized service
● Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of common areas, including the lounge, bridal suite, and public spaces
● Set up and manage the continental breakfast, ensuring guest satisfaction
● Lead property tours, offering insight into the resort’s amenities and services
● Respond promptly to guest needs and special requests, both in person and via phone or email
● Maintain accurate daily briefing notes for resort departments to ensure seamless communication
● Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their stay and assist with check-in/check-out processes
● Forward all sales leads and inquiries to the appropriate team members
● Assist in maintaining guest records, including special rates and client profiles, in coordination with the Operations Manager and Sales Director
Front Desk Duties:
● Oversee front desk operations, ensuring an efficient and welcoming environment
● Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, and reservation management using WebRez and other hotel systems
● Manage administrative tasks such as filing, updating records, and maintaining office supplies
● Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
● Ensure the reception area is organized, clean, and fully stocked with necessary materials
● Coordinate guest requests and service needs across departments
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
● Strong commitment to exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction
● A proactive and hands-on approach to hosting and guest interactions
● Ability to thrive in an active role that requires frequent movement and engagement with guests
● Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
● Strong organizational and time management abilities
● Proficiency in front desk systems like WebRez, along with Google Docs and Microsoft Word
● A high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or a related field is an asset)
● 2+ years of hospitality or front desk experience preferred
● Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing guest needs
