Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) is looking for a self-motivated & energetic individual to join our industry-leading organization which works towards the delivery of high-quality services and programs to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury districts. Created by the provincial government, the DSB is responsible for overseeing and managing a range of services divested to the municipal order of government, including Ontario Works, Community Housing, Paramedic Services (Land Ambulance), and Early Learning and Child Care Services.

Our Team
The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board is comprised of 14 board members and has been in existence for 25 years. With three main departments, Integrated Human Services, Paramedic Services, and Administration, and over 200 employees, we service a large geographical area totaling 45,000 square km. Our organization is responsible for the development and execution of annual budgets exceeding $50 million. The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration and as a member of the Senior Management team, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for the financial administration within the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB). This role includes ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with Ministry guidelines, financial reconciliation, and providing support to all programs. The position plays a critical role in fostering sustainable service delivery for programs. This is a hybrid position, some in office work is required.
Required Qualifications Include:
- Minimum of a 3-year Accounting Diploma from a recognized Canadian accredited College.
- Diploma in Business Administration, Finance or a related field. A degree is preferred.
- Progress toward CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an accounting environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Reconcile, and monitor funding allocations, ensuring compliance with Ministry guidelines and deadlines.
- Review funding applications for programs ensuring eligibility and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain financial tools and templates for funding reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of Ministry funding reports, including TPON and EFIS submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Reconcile financial statements and ensure proper coding of expenditures in the general ledger.
- Provide financial support and guidance to service providers, assisting with compliance and reporting requirements.
- Assist with annual audits and special projects as directed by the Director of Finance and Administration.
- Monitor and report on program budgets, cash flows, and funding utilization to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Prepare and maintain accurate year end working papers using Excel for reconciliation and reporting purposes.
- Assist with the maintenance of Ministry cash flows and alert supervisor of any discrepancies.
- Completion of special projects as directed by the director or managers.
- Balance expenses to the G/L and prepare required working papers using Excel.
- Assist with the preparation of bank reconciliations.

Salary Range: $69,456 to 81,253 per annum.
