Countertop Templator

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and professional Countertop Templator to join our team. The Templator is responsible for visiting job sites to take precise measurements of countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces. These templates will guide the fabrication of stone, quartz, solid surface, or laminate countertops. This role involves working directly with customers and ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel to residential and commercial job sites to measure and template countertops
• Use digital templating equipment (such as a Laser Templator or Prodim Proliner) or manual templating tools
• Review project specifications with clients to confirm design, edge details, overhangs, and cutouts (e.g., sink, cooktop, faucet)
• Communicate effectively with fabrication and installation teams to ensure project accuracy
• Document job site conditions and take necessary photographs
• Make sure templates comply with company standards and customer requirements
• Ensure all safety protocols and company policies are followed on job sites
• Maintain templating equipment and company vehicle in good condition
• Report job progress, site issues, and measurement concerns to project managers

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus
• Experience in countertop fabrication or installation is preferred
• Familiarity with digital templating systems (Laser Products, Prodim, etc.)
• Strong math and measurement skills
• Basic understanding of cabinetry, construction, and/or remodeling
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or construction drawings
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various site conditions

Preferred Skills:

• CAD or similar software experience
• Bilingual a plus (especially Spanish/English)
• Experience with stone, quartz, or solid surface materials

Work Environment:

• Regular travel to customer sites
• May require occasional weekend or evening work depending on the project schedule
• Some work in fabrication shop or warehouse settings
