Position:  Cleaner Housekeeping

Reports to:  Director of Maintenance

Employment Period:  mid-May to mid-September 

 Wages:  Depending on experience $18 to $20 per hour 

Number of positions:  2 at 40 hours per week: 2 @ 24 hours per week 

Shift:  8:00 am. - 4:30 pm. Some weekend work required: some afternoons till 7pm 

Mandatory Requirements:, clear police check: clear driver's license if employee has one.  Must be able to perform physical requirements attached.  Medical forms required. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, clean high ceilings using ladder /vacuum cleaner and move some furniture. Must have own transportation.

Camp will reimburse staff for cost of police check and drivers abstract.


  • Clean camp buildings normal cleaning of bathrooms, sweeping, mopping floors, removal of garbage bags to bins.
  • Cleans camp cleaning thoroughly (dry and wet clean); make lists of supplies, fills soap pumpers and other cleaning liquid containers, washes cleaning rags, organizes cleaning hut.
  • Performs a thorough dry clean of camp activity buildings, camp office, camp wellness centre, staff residences and cabins prior to the water being turned on.
  • Clean walls, vacuums ceilings, under bunk beds, vacuums floors, clean windows, sweep decks; Do a thorough wet clean when camp water is turned on which includes cleaning windows, floors, bathrooms, washing walls, cleaning mattresses, cleaning fridges. 
  • Cleans all public washrooms and public showers including walls, floors & windows.

 Performs a thorough cleaning of camp kitchen which includes fridges, walk in fridges, freezers, counter tops, stoves, washes floors, cleans cupboards and storage areas; cleans dining hall thoroughly including washing windows, scrubbing and waxing floors, cleans wooden dining halls tables and benches. Cleans sinks inside kitchen. Does cutlery and dish inventories.  

Deliver soaps, toilet paper, paper towels to all cabins and buildings.  Removes garbage & recycling from all buildings.

 Once staff & campers arrive, does a daily cleaning (wet & dry) of all buildings listed on the cleaning schedule including delivery of supplies, removing garbage. Sorts lost & found items and returns them to cabins. Washes lost and found items and help in laundry facilities

Assists in sweeping/scrubbing dining hall floors if required as well as cleaning dining hall tables/benches.  Cleans sinks in front of dining hall; Wipes down ping pong tables; cleans dryer vents, wipes down laundry tables etc.

 Does a complete fall clean before water is shut down. Organizes and boxes items for winter storage.  Performs other duties such as planting and weeding camp flower beds, watering plants.
