Dishwasher/Porter Job Description – Northridge Inn
The Dishwasher/Porter is an essential part of our back-of-house team, ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the kitchen and service areas. This role helps uphold Northridge’s high standards of hospitality by supporting kitchen operations and contributing to a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
$17.20–$20/hour based on experience
Role Responsibilities:

Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly

Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen prep areas

Assist kitchen team with basic food prep or supply runs as needed

Ensure garbage and recycling are properly sorted and removed regularly

Clean and restock dish stations, handwashing stations, and cleaning supplies

Support in keeping back hallways, storage, and staff areas tidy and free from hazards

Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries

Ensure adherence to all health and safety guidelines and sanitation procedures

Help with closing and opening cleaning duties as assigned

Occasionally assist with event setup, maintenance tasks, or general porter responsibilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment

Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety standards

Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods

Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is an asset but not required
