Assistant Groundskeeper Job Description – Northridge Inn
The Assistant Groundskeeper plays a key role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of Northridge Inn’s grounds and facilities. Working under the guidance of the Groundskeeping Manager, this position involves general upkeep, light construction projects, and hands-on support for weddings and events. The ideal candidate is hardworking, adaptable, and enjoys working outdoors in a team environment.
Part-time | May to October | $18–$20/hour based on experience Weekend availability required, with hours increasing during peak season (July–September)
Role Responsibilities:
● Assist in the general upkeep of the resort grounds, including mowing, trimming, raking, watering, and seasonal clean-up
● Perform basic repairs, painting, and small construction projects under the supervision of the Lead Groundskeeper
● Maintain walkways, patios, gardens, and common areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and guest-ready
● Support the Events team during events, particularly on weekend with the setup and takedown of ceremony spaces, receptions, and other resort events
● Assist in setting up tents, tables, chairs, décor, and other event equipment as needed
● Monitor the condition of outdoor event spaces and ensure they remain pristine before and during events
● Safely operate maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, power tools, and small machinery
● Follow all health and safety protocols while handling tools, chemicals, and equipment
● Work collaboratively with the resort team to address immediate maintenance or setup needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
● A hands-on, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills
● Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or general maintenance (an asset but not required)
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
● Strong attention to detail and a sense of pride in maintaining beautiful spaces
● Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
● Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks, especially during event setups
● Weekend availability, particularly during wedding season
