Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, we are looking to add individuals who are highly motivated with a great attitude to our close-knit team in the role of General Labourer, based in Bracebridge, Ontario. We offer a competitive compensation package including:
• Day shift, Monday to Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Starting hourly wage of $19/hour raising to $21.50/hour after 3 months

Key Responsibilities:
• Assists with set-up and maintenance of the production machines
• Operates machinery in a safe manner; feeds conveyors, hoppers, saws and drying machines
• Removes scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing
• Saws, trims, and planes rough lumber into dressed lumber of various sizes
• Conducts quality checks on logs before staining and packing
• Assists the stain team with staining logs
• Maintains cleanliness of machines and immediate work areas
• Performs repairs on factory machinery, as required (i.e., replace blades or bands, etc.)

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role, is considered an asset
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Self-motivated and willing to tackle challenges head on with a positive attitude
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
