Job Title: Machine Operator Assistant
Location: Trout Creek, ON
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Salary: $17.20-22/ hr commensurate based on experience
We are seeking highly motivated Machine Helpers to join our growing team in Trout Creek, Ontario. This role involves assisting operators with production woodworking machines, including CNC routers and automated sanding equipment, to ensure production efficiency and product quality. Successful candidates will perform routine quality checks, count parts and do some glueing and assembly work.
- Help to load, unload production machinery such as CNC routers, production sanding equipment
- Glue and assemble wood and engineered wood cabinet doors
- Use power and hand tools to add profiles to doors
- Move materials between work cells
- Conduct counts and quality inspections of machine outputs to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of work areas and equipment.
- Actively participate in safety and training sessions.
- Assist with identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and provide constructive feedback.
- Work independently to meet tight deadlines and production schedules.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting an asset
- basic math skills.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.

Steve is a graduate of the Conestoga College woodworking technician program. Steve started training as a woodworker at the young age of 14, and only a year later opened his first small custom woodworking business. His passion for woodworking is obvious in his designs and construction.
Steve's woodworking shop is located just off of Highway 522 in the community of Trout Creek in the Municipality of Powassan in Northern Ontario, Canada.
There, using traditional woodworking methods with his dedicated team, Steve produces custom works for contemporary and modern kitchen designs that are truly “a cut above the rest”. We pride ourselves on being true craftsmen. We don't use CNC equipment to build our custom pieces; they are all hand-made.
