Employment North is a non-profit, community-based agency dedicated to helping individuals build meaningful careers. Serving the East Parry Sound District and the Gravenhurst area, we offer free and accessible employment services to adults, youth, newcomers, and persons with disabilities.

Position: Employment Specialist
As an Employment Specialist, you will work one-on-one with job seekers, helping them navigate their employment journey with compassion and practical support. Whether you are facilitating workshops, connecting with employers, or helping someone fine-tune their resume, your work will have a lasting impact.
What You Will Do:
✅ Provide individualized employment counselling (resume and cover letter support, interview coaching, career exploration)
✅ Lead group workshops on job search strategies, soft skills, and employment readiness
✅ Build relationships with local employers to understand hiring needs and connect them with job-ready candidates
✅ Support clients facing employment barriers with personalized, strengths-based guidance
✅ Maintain accurate and confidential client records and outcome tracking
What We Are Looking For:
🎓 Diploma or degree in Social Services, Human Services, Career Development, or a related field
💬 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
🧠 Trauma-informed, client-focused approach
💻 Comfortable using digital tools and client databases
🤝 Ability to engage diverse populations and manage a varied caseload
✅ Experience in employment services, social work, recruiting, or career counselling is an asset
