We serve the East Parry Sound District and communities surrounding Gravenhurst, providing free, accessible employment services to adults, newcomers, persons with disabilities, students, and youth.

The Role: Employment Specialist
As an Employment Specialist, you’ll support job seekers in reaching their goals, using a compassionate, client-centred approach. Whether you’re leading a workshop, building connections with local employers, or helping someone rewrite their resume, your work will change lives for the better.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one employment counselling, including resume and cover letter support, interview prep, and career exploration
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions on job search strategies, skill development, and employment readiness
- Collaborate with employers to understand staffing needs and help connect them with job-ready candidates
- Support clients facing barriers to employment with personalized, strength-based guidance
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and employment outcomes
What You Bring:
- A diploma or degree in Social Services, Human Services, Career Development, or related field
- Strong interpersonal skills with a trauma-informed, client-focused mindset
- Excellent communication—both written and verbal
- Proficiency in digital tools and client data systems
- Ability to build rapport with diverse populations
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively
- Experience in employment services, career counselling, social work, or recruiting is an asset

- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
