We’re looking for a full-time experienced Tool Designer to join our team.

Wage Range: $33 - $40 per hour

Job duties

• Modelling and designing:
  • Machine Jaws
  • Machine Tools
  • Robot – End of arm tooling includes fixturing for parts washers, loading systems, CMM fixtures
  • Forge Dies and related components
• Assist in the quoting process:
  • Select the best equipment for the job
  • Estimate machine cycle times
  • Estimate tooling costs
• Develop innovative tooling concepts for new projects
• Participate in tooling reviews, troubleshoot production tooling issues

Position Requirements

• Post secondary diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool and Die certification or similar program (or equivalent experience)
• Forge tool design knowledge essential for both brass & aluminum
• Solid understanding of machining and die assembly practices
• Excellent interpersonal / communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team environment
• SolidWorks and CAM software experience required
• Familiar with project management principles an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
• 10+ years of previous related experience preferred in forging, die casting or injection moulding
