Northridge Inn & Resort – Food & Beverage Service Team
Position Overview
Northridge Inn & Resort is seeking energetic, service-focused individuals to join
our Front-of-House Service Team as Servers / Bartenders for the 2026 season.
This role plays an essential part in delivering the exceptional hospitality
experiences Northridge is known for, with a particular focus on weddings, private
events, and resort dining service. Team members will provide professional food
and beverage service in both event settings and regular restaurant operations,
ensuring every guest interaction reflects the Northridge standard of warmth,
attentiveness, and professionalism.
Servers may be scheduled for restaurant service, bar service, or event service,
including weddings and private functions. All team members must maintain
Smart Serve certification and demonstrate responsible alcohol service in
accordance with Ontario law.
This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced hospitality
environments and take pride in creating memorable guest experiences.
Employment Term & Schedule
This is a seasonal, fixed-term, part-time position.
Employment is expected to run approximately:
May 2026 – October 2026
Schedules will vary based on operational needs and will include:
• Evenings
• Weekends
• Holidays
• High-volume wedding and event dates
Due to the nature of Northridge’s operations, weddings and private events
represent a primary service focus. Team members should expect to be
scheduled regularly for event service, particularly on weekends.
Work hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on guest demand, event
bookings, and operational requirements.
This position is temporary and seasonal in nature. There is no guarantee of
renewal, extension, or continued employment beyond the stated contract term.
Early Start Opportunity
Qualified candidates may be offered the opportunity to begin employment
earlier in the spring season based on operational needs such as event
preparation, training, or early-season service.
Any early start arrangements will be confirmed in writing.
Compensation
Hourly Wage
$17.60 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience, role responsibilities, and service
assignments.
Compensation complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) and
will always meet or exceed the applicable minimum wage.
Gratuities & Tip Pooling
Northridge Inn & Resort operates a shared gratuity pool for both restaurant and
event service.
Gratuities collected during service are distributed among eligible service team
members in accordance with Northridge’s internal gratuity distribution policy.
This system promotes teamwork and ensures consistent service standards across
both restaurant and event operations.
Gratuity distribution practices comply with the Ontario Employment Standards
Act (ESA) regarding employee tip ownership and lawful tip pooling.
Details of the gratuity structure will be provided during onboarding and training.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Hospitality
• Provide attentive, professional, and welcoming service to all guests
• Greet guests warmly and create a positive and memorable dining
experience
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and courteously
• Ensure each guest interaction reflects Northridge’s commitment to
impeccable hospitality
Food & Beverage Service
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and provide knowledgeable
recommendations
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining Northridge service
standards
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in
accordance with Smart Serve regulations
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and replenish beverages
when needed
• Clear dishes between courses and maintain clean, organized tables
Wedding & Event Service
• Attend pre-event roll call meetings to review event timelines, guest
expectations, and service standards
• Assist with event setup including:
◦ Table settings
◦ Glassware
◦ Linens
◦ Service stations
• Deliver coordinated service during weddings and private events under
the direction of supervisors
• Maintain consistent service timing and presentation during high-volume
events
• Assist with event teardown and room resets to ensure spaces are ready for
future functions
Dining Room & Bar Operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, bar stations, and
service areas
• Ensure glassware, utensils, and service equipment are properly polished
and prepared
• Follow proper service etiquette and food safety practices
• Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and service teams to ensure
smooth operations
Compliance & Responsible Service
• Follow all Ontario liquor laws and Smart Serve regulations
• Provide responsible alcohol service and monitor guest safety
• Adhere to workplace safety, sanitation, and operational policies
• Comply with all applicable corporate policies, provincial laws, and
workplace regulations
Team Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and service teams
• Support fellow team members during busy service periods
• Maintain a positive and professional presence during shifts
• Follow established attendance policies and scheduling expectations
Professional Conduct
Team members are expected to maintain professional conduct at all times while
on duty, including responsible alcohol service, respectful interactions with guests
and colleagues, and adherence to Northridge workplace policies and service
standards.
Additional Duties
• Perform additional related duties as assigned by supervisors or
management
• Contribute to maintaining the high operational and hospitality standards
expected at Northridge Inn & Resort
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
• Valid Ontario Smart Serve certification
• Eligibility to work in Ontario
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication and guest service skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Preferred
• Previous experience in restaurant, bar, or event service
• Experience working weddings or large-scale events
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and etiquette
• Experience in hotel, resort, or hospitality environments
Work Environment
This role operates in a dynamic hospitality environment that includes restaurant
service, bar service, and high-volume weddings and events.
Team members should be comfortable with:
• Extended periods of standing and walking
• Carrying trays and service equipment
• Working in busy and high-energy event environments
• Indoor and outdoor service areas depending on event requirements
