Position Overview
Silver Gull Outdoors is seeking reliable, personable, and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Paddlesports Rental Attendants. Based at Rotary Park in Gravenhurst, this role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with the public, and contributing to memorable on-water experiences for guests of all backgrounds and abilities.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a calm and confident presence, and a willingness to assist guests with varying levels of experience in a supportive and professional manner.

Compensation
  • Training wage starting at $18.00 per hour
  • Wage increases available based on experience, performance, and relevant certifications
Schedule
  • Weekday afternoons and evenings
  • Weekends (required availability)
  • Both part-time and full-time hours available
Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and check in guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Operate point-of-sale systems using iPhone (iOS-based apps)
  • Ensure all waivers are properly completed and signed
  • Assist guests safely entering and exiting canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards
  • Provide clear and concise basic paddling instruction when required
  • Move and set up equipment including canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and signage
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe rental area
  • Support team operations and take on additional duties as required
Core Requirements
  • Demonstrated kindness, patience, and strong customer service skills
  • Calm, confident demeanor, particularly in outdoor or water-based environments
  • Ability to communicate instructions clearly and effectively
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with willingness to ask for and accept assistance when needed
  • Comfort using iPhone (iOS) applications for daily operations
Preferred Qualifications (Assets, Not Required)
  • Standard First Aid certification
  • Swimming proficiency or aquatic certifications
  • Paddling experience and/or certifications (canoe, kayak, SUP)
  • Water rescue training or experience
  • Multilingual abilities (e.g., Hindi, Spanish, Mandarin, French)
  • Cross-cultural experience or demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
Work Environment
This is an outdoor, physically active role based at a busy waterfront location. Team members should be prepared to work in varying weather conditions and contribute to a positive, safety-focused team culture.
