Description
As a bilingual Citizen Services Officer, you will work directly with Canadians, using your judgment, communication, client focus, and information gathering skills to make a real difference in their lives.
Your duties will include the following:
- Answering questions and providing guidance on programs and services in both official languages, English and French.
- Conducting fact-finding with clients, assessing and deciding on which service offerings and/or information to provide, referring clients to specialists if necessary.
- Encouraging clients to use electronic service channels and helping them do so.
- Verifying and authenticating client identity and/or supporting documentation, processing fees for service and other payments, and generating certificates, permits and similar documents for other service offerings within established guidelines.
- Receiving, screening and forwarding applications and supporting documentation and explaining where and how the client can follow-up on the status of their requests.
- Administering oaths, and taking and receiving affidavits, declarations and affirmations.
- Travelling to offer regular or occasional outreach to remote locations.
