About Us

Almaguin Highlands Community Living is a non-profit association that provides services and support to people who have an intellectual disability. We have been servicing the District of East Parry Sound for over 36 years. Our region reaches from Callander to Emsdale and over to Magnetawan.

We envision a society where people who have an intellectual disability belong and feel respected. To obtain this goal, we work with communities to include people who have an intellectual disability so they feel respected and share in all aspects of community life. We also work with their families to provide support and services that are as unique to each individual as their disability is.

We are dedicated to providing support and individual attention to each person and their family to help them reach their full potential. The individual, their family, friends and significant others are integral planning partners to their Essential Lifestyle Plan. We are very pleased to be able to offer such a wide variety of services to the people we serve and their families.

Our Mission

Almaguin Highlands Community Living exists in order to educate the full community, families, people supported and our staff as to the meaning of full citizenship and how it is intended to apply to people with developmental disabilities in terms of inclusion, rights, aspirations and potential for contribution.

AHCL also exists to provide a range of supports to people with developmental disabilities on a day to day basis that vary widely depending on the individual needs of each person.

Our Vision
