Location: Camp Lionheart, Bracebridge, ON 

Reports to: Head of Maintenance Crew  

Duration: 

  • June 22 to September 4 
  • There is opportunity for an earlier start date or later finish date as needed  

About Lionheart 

Camp Lionheart is an overnight camp in Muskoka, Canada that supports children with disabilities and complex medical needs.  

Position Summary 

The Maintenance and Cleaning Crew Staff at Camp Lionheart are responsible for getting the grounds ready for the camp season and supporting a safe, clean, and well-maintained camp environment. Team members will be assigned to either a cleaning role or a maintenance role. Cleaning staff focus on routine sanitization, housekeeping, and ensuring facilities meet high standards of cleanliness, while maintenance staff are responsible for general repairs, landscaping, and set-up in all areas of camp. All team members follow established safety procedures and work collaboratively to support the day-to-day operations of camp. This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, hands-on, and wanting to work in an outdoor camp environment.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform duties towards maintaining a clean and properly landscaped camp grounds 
  • Follow the cleaning and sanitizing schedules and routines 
  • Inventory and stock facilities with supplies required 
  • Identify, address, and report hazards to supervisor as required  
  • Follow health and safety standards at all times, including safe operation of equipment and proper handling of chemicals 
  • Contribute to a supportive and positive work environment  
  • Tasks are representative, but not all inclusive.

Qualifications 

  • Ability to operate maintenance and cleaning equipment in a safe and effective manner 
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and willing to work within a team environment 
  • Reliable transportation to and from camp 
  • Comfortable working in a camp environment  
  • Physical stamina and mobility to reach, kneel and bend 
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs 
  • Current Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening 
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset
