Lofthouse Manufacturing is in beautiful Burk’s Falls, Ontario. Burk’s Falls lies on the outskirts of picturesque Muskoka and has the convenience of being located between the cities of Huntsville and North Bay.

Wage Range: $22-26/hr based on experience.

Schedule: Full time - Mon.-Fri. 8 hour (Flextime)

1 year maternity contract with possibility of moving into Finance for the right candidate

Job Description

We are looking to hire an Office Assistant to join our team. The successful applicant will be an energetic professional who enjoys working with various departments and people. At Brawo Lofthouse people make the difference!

The ideal candidate will be cross trained to be our office’s “Swiss Army Knife” that can jump into a variety of tasks when needed. Multidisciplinary in nature, tasks vary daily, including a variety of projects supporting different departments. This means our ideal candidate will need to have strong organization and prioritization skills.

A Day on the Job could Include:

Marketing

  • Maintain, initiate content for approval, and monitor social media platforms and our website to promote company capabilities, goals, and milestones.
  • Create posters and graphic designs for social media, and internal company postings.
  • Organize and participate in company events, recognition, and gift programs in collaboration with the management team.
  • Develop job advertisements for Indeed, LinkedIn or posts across social media.

Supportive General Administration

  • Complete various data analytics including reports on attendance, staffing, turnover, health and safety data along with various analysis of key metrics for management.
  • Support document control by creating and revising Standard Operating Procedures and various Work Instructions as needed.
  • Assist department heads with bi-annual review process by gathering and entering data with plant/employee performance metrics.
  • Initiate and complete special projects that may arise throughout the week or day.
  • Assist finance department with month end, general data input and analysis

Human Resources Tasks

  • Promote organizational policies to assure adherence to Health and Safety
  • Prepare for and attend Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and assist in maintaining the internal responsibility system.
  •  Maintain employee information and related records systems (electronic databases and paper files).
  • Work closely with management to develop job advertisements, source candidates via various platforms, resume and phone screening, coordinate and participate in the interview process, obtain reference checks, and draft offer letters.
  • Organize and deliver new employee orientation and onboarding activities.
  • In collaboration with management, execute organizational training and development needs, administer, and manage training courses through database.

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in business administration
  • Excellent computer skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook and Canva.
  • Office and marketing experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Work with discretion and within appropriate privacy standards regarding sensitive and confidential information.
  • Finance experience in payroll, AR/AP an asset
  • Take initiative, research and be resourceful, solutions focused, ability to lead and manage projects to completion.
  • Willingness and ability to train in various office duties as required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
