The Classroom Teacher is responsible for providing an educational, supportive and wholistic atmosphere where students have the opportunity to: fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program in accordance with Wasauksing First Nation and Ontario curriculum policies that will result in students achieving lifelong success and a strong cultural identity. This position must incorporate, participate in and support land-based learning, cultural teachings and Anishinaabemowin into their daily curriculum. This position will use trauma-informed teaching practices and understand intergenerational trauma & the effects of residential schools/colonization on Indigenous people.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent Prior experience working with children an asset Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal vehicle This position requires the individual to work with various families, youth and children. To protect children, youth and vulnerable persons, Wasauksing First Nation requires the individual to provide a vulnerable sector check |
