Wages: Resort Manager - $20/hr + season completion bonus
Duties & Qualifications:

Walker Lake Resort offers weekly lakefront cottage vacation rentals from May to October.  It is set along the tranquil lakefront and boasts fully equipped cottages which include many leisure amenities to guests from outdoor fire pits, to canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats.   Located 15 minutes from Downtown Huntsville and only 25 minutes from Algonquin National Park, Walker Lake Resort is a beautiful vacation choice in Muskoka.

We are looking to hire the following live-in role for the summer 2021 Season

RESORT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest services:

  • Act as Front-line customer service to the resort guests
  • Greet guests with a smile and provide information on facilities
  • Handle bookings and payments
  • Manage Guest inquiries and check-ins
  • Handle any customer issues or inquiries with professionalism
  • Report and store lost and found items
  • Oversee Resort attendant

General resort duties:

  • Assist with waterfront maintenance
  • Assist with resort equipment retrieval and cleaning
  • Assist with resort grounds maintenance including fire pits and main building

Housekeeping (shared responsibility with Resort Attendant):

  • Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
  • Sweep, mop, wash floors
  • Make beds, change sheets and distribute clean towels and toiletries
  • Attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies
  • Stock linen closet and supplies area
  • Clean, disinfect and polish bathroom fixtures
  • Clean, disinfect and kitchen area
  • Clean, disinfect cottage BBQ and outdoor furniture
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings
  • Laundry as required

The Resort Manager role and the Resort Attendant roles, work together as a team to run all aspects of the resort. Onsite housing is provided for a monthly cost.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Customer service experience, preferably at the supervisory level
  • Strong technical skills (computer and online platforms)
  • Experience with tools (grounds and maintenance)
  • Housekeeping or professional cleaning experience an asset
  • WHMIS Training
  • Boating license (or willingness to obtain)
  • Driver’s license a strong asset

 

Physical requirement:

  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Bend, stand, reach for extended periods of time, throughout the day
  • Safely operate golf cart on the property with supplies
  • Strong swimming skills
