Reports to: General Manager

Job Overview:

The Quality Assurance Inspector will work in True North Printed Plastics’ Quality department initiatives. This includes development and maintenance of the QMS, ISO9002 certification. The Quality Assurance Inspector will work closely with the Department Supervisors and Management to ensure that manufacturing processes are capable and deliver defect-free finished goods to True North Printed Plastic’s customers. This role includes; supporting initiatives in process development, process improvement, and corrective actions. This role is a hands-on inspection and reporting of quality achievements by production.

The Quality Assurance Inspector will uphold and promote True North Printed Plastics Inc. values and code of conduct.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To review work order, proof and any special notes regarding material prep and production requirements
  • To inspect parts for conformance and eliminate non conformances (imperfections – scratches, smudges, misalignment)
  • Ensure all Work In Progress operations are updated and entered into work management system
  • Update work orders as requested / required
  • Assist Plant / Production Manager and Supervisors to implement a system that ensures the correct materials have been assigned to specified jobs
  • Coordinate with the Plant / Production Manager, Scheduler and Supervisors to ensure materials required for production are available upon request
  • Work closely with Plant / Production Manager, and Supervisors to ensure all production request details are correctly noted and appropriate staff advised
  • Assist and coordinate with the Switch Department Supervisor on other Switch Department builds.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and help resolve plant issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain a positive relationship with department managers
  • Ensuring in-process inventory records are kept accurate on a regular basis

Wages: $35,000 - $45,000 per year
