Wages: $24-$30 Per hour
Duties & Qualifications:
Under the direction of the President the Painter/ Finisher is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint to these surfaces. May perform touch-ups or coordinate large painting projects related to the construction industry. The incumbent will also conduct physical construction and clean up tasks with quality, conservancy of materials, precision and cleanliness in mind.

Position Functions
• Maintain cleanliness of shop or site, daily cleaning duties, sweeping shop or site etc.
• Arrive on time and manage time wisely.
• Having the knowledge of and working with different types of sprayers (paint) for interior and exterior applications such as walls, stains, interior and exterior wood finishes.
• Assist in shop with wood finishing, sanding, staining, and applying finishes.
• Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces.
• Patching and repairing holes in drywall, caulking around window, doors and trim.
• Touch ups on wood, metal, concrete, epoxy resin, drywall, etc.
• Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare items for application of paint, lacquer or other protective or decorative coatings.
• Assisting with various aspects and tasks related to construction, cabinetry, concrete work, material handling, shipping/receiving, earth works, landscaping, siding, calking etc.
• Maintain safe work practices.
• Follow oral and or written instructions with precision to make sure assignments are completed exactly as directed and on time.
• Perform work at various heights with the proper use of safety gear, clothing, and restraints.
• Lift, load and transport tools, equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds and navigate construction job site terrain.
• Perform general maintenance of construction tools and equipment.
• Report any safety issues and damaged material to site or shop supervisor.
• Conduct work according company policy and procedures.
• Provide labor support as needed for construction or shop crew.

Work Experience:
• 3-years residential construction painting experience.

Educational Requirements:
• High school Diploma or GED preferred.
• Any construction related college diploma and or certificate is an asset.
• Working from heights and WHIMS certification

Required Skills

• Must have a positive attitude, be able to work with others, as a team and under pressure.
• Spray painting experience is an asset.
• Comfortable on ladders and at heights.
• Experience with brush and roller.
• High attention to detail and extremely meticulous.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of material and construction processes.
• Clean driver’s abstract, Class G driver’s license with a reliable means of transportation.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Critical eye for identifying defects.
• Must be polite, courteous, and punctual and a team player.
• Willingness to stand and work in all types of weather for eight hours per day with minimal supervision.
• Hand-eye coordination and physical strength with the ability to lift heavy material.
