Job Description:
The Member Services Coordinator will connect and build relationships with existing and new members, focusing on consistent delivery of membership services. Our ideal candidate will be a team player, willing to contribute to the bigger picture and organizational goals. They will be organized and resourceful, with notable problem-solving skills, positive vibe, and eagerness to excel. The Member Services Coordinator is required to attend some activities outside of the office and regular working hours – primarily involving support for meetings, seminars, and special events during evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer and member inquiries and work with public/business members to ensure positive results.
  • Manage the new member onboarding process, welcoming and engaging new members, and providing key information, resources and connections.
  • Responsible for internal/external communications, including our weekly newsletter, e-blasts, social media feeds, and website updates.
  • Research and advise on current analytic trends, reporting, and other data.
  • Assist in marketing and planning of Chamber led events, including but not limited to: The Gravenhurst Car Show, Gravenhurst Santa Claus Parade, Winter Gala, and monthly Business After-Hours Socials.
  • Administrative duties as required (filing, answering phones, helping customers, updating member information, etc.)
  • Other duties as required.



Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Development, Communications/ Marketing, or related experience.
  • Proactive, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional verbal communication, reading, writing, and editing skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with other staff members and the general public.
  • Online media and internet marketing experience.
  • Interest in learning Office programs, WordPress, Mailchimp, Quickbooks.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to work with timelines, and multitask.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Adaptive to challenging work, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license, and use of personal vehicle.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Available to work full-time, with the flexibility to work in the evenings and on weekends when necessary.
  • Willingness and ability to move around Gravenhurst for various events and activities – on foot, bicycle, or driving – is important. Mileage paid if you’re driving.
  • Cell phone suitable for social media; $100/month expense paid for cell usage.
  • Requirement for sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting and in a special event environment; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; walk on uneven terrain, loose soil, and sloped surfaces; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations; to operate equipment and vehicle.
