Marine Technician and/or Apprentice needed for one of our clients in the Bracebridge area. This position is full time and permanent. Our client is looking for applicants that are open to year-round work with a two-month Client Client-off (approx. late Dec to early Feb) then willing to return each year.

Duties & Qualifications:

Wage is based on experience approx. $20 – $30/hr. 42.5 hours per week + Hourly bonus based on billable hours Full benefits after 3 months Defined training plan Annual tool reimbursement of up to $2000 Position Duties: Inspect, maintain and repair of different types of boats Complete pre-delivery and final delivery inspections Test and repair inboard and outboard engines, hulls, propellers, navigational systems, electrical systems, steering gears, and boat accessories using various diagnostic equipment Work with the CSRs to provide proper diagnostic information and labor quotes Complete all internal documentation for evaluations and warranty work Complete assigned work orders in a timely and efficient manner Monitor workflow to determine if scheduled time will be met or if an adjustment is needed to stay in budget Work closely with parts to obtain requirements needed to complete the job (both in stock and ordered parts) Maintain up to date knowledge on new and emerging technologies in marine service Work closely with Location Manager to create a personalized training plan Work with the Location Manager and an experienced Marine Technician to maintain training goals All other duties as assigned Skills & Requirements Experience in the Marine industry is an asset Pleasure Craft Operator Card required Able to work irregular hours during peak periods including weekends Ability to lift, push, kneel, and reach, including in high locations Ability to work on and off-site as required |
