Duties & Qualifications:
The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness are maintained throughout CNIB Lake Joe. The Housekeeping Supervisor manages the housekeeping team to maintain standards, control costs and provide a positive guest experience.

*Develop and maintain regular cleaning schedule throughout all buildings to ensure facility is maintained to meet the standards established by CNIB
*Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (sections 27 and 28), the Ontario Employment Standards Act and CNIB’s Health and Safety program
*Assist General Manager in hiring housekeeping staff; supervise housekeeping team; lead by example and create a positive team environment; practice positive coaching to support employees in their roles
*Conduct orientation and training to review policies, procedures and demonstrate correct use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
*Ensure designated housekeeping uniforms are clean and worn by housekeeping staff, including any necessary personal protective equipment (i.e., gloves)
*Communicate with housekeeping team and other CNIB Lake Joe staff to provide updates on the status of guest rooms
*Prepare weekly housekeeping work schedules and distribute to housekeeping staff once approved by the General Manager
*Obtain and review the Housekeeping Report from Guest Services at the beginning of each shift
*Prepare daily work assignments for housekeeping staff
*Perform housekeeping duties
*Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to housekeeping staff
*Monitor and maintain inventory for cleaning supplies, linen and equipment – notify General Manager when replenishment is required
*Conduct regular room and building inspections to maintain standards and determine need for repairs
*Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and take corrective action
*Other duties as assigned

*Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
*Customer service and housekeeping experience (2-3 years)
*Supervisory experience (2-3 years)
*High school diploma an asset
*Computer proficiency (MS Outlook, Word and Excel)
*Current (within 6 months of start date) Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
*Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C
*Current WHMIS training an asset
