|Spend your summer boating in Muskoka and get paid for it!
Dockside Magazine has openings for several circulation crew members to deliver magazines by boat to cottages in Muskoka.
These are full-time, seasonal jobs of approximately 16 weeks duration, beginning around May 11 and lasting until the end of August
You’ll be delivering magazines in Muskoka, spend a few weeks in Kawartha, with additional time spent delivering in Simcoe County and Southern Georgian Bay.
You’ll be part of an engaged and active team, travelling throughout the region. There will also be times when you’re working on your own.
Most days will involve travelling by car or van to deliver to mailboxes and driveways, or walking up to 16 kms a day and delivering magazines to homes and businesses. Those crew members who work on the water will be driving a 16-foot aluminum boat, placing magazines on several hundred docks a day.
We’re looking for people who can work independently, but who are also personable and able to offer a friendly greeting to homeowners. You need to be physically fit, and enjoy being outdoors in all weather.
You must have a clean driving record. Boating crew members will also need to have a Pleasure Boat Operator Certificate, as well as experience handling a tiller-controlled power boat. (There will be a driving test on your first day.) Navigation experience (map or GPS) and familiarity with roads in this region are desirable. You will need your own transportation to work each day.
We typically work four ten-hour days a week, but additional work – including some weekends – may be required at various times in the season. Expect to start early in the morning.
