This Ontario government program can help you find a summer job with businesses as well as non profit or community organizations. The Program provides free services to improve your job-search and self-marketing skills. It also provides a $2.00 per hour wage subsidy for businesses or community organizations who employ students for the summer.

Who can Participate?

Summer Jobs Service is available to Students if you are:

• 15 to 30 years of age.
• Not currently working for the employer applying for the subsidy (exception: students whose Part Time jobs will be increased to Full Time while participating in the Summer Jobs Service)
• Currently enrolled in school and returning to school in the fall, students can either be in High School, College and /or University

What's offered?

The SJS Program offers the following:

• Free Employment Training Sessions on how to develop Job Search and Self-Marketing Skills to help students' land and keep a job
• A $2.00 per hour incentive for business, non-profit and other community organizations to hire you
• Jobs that can last up to 16 weeks beginning in April and ending by September 30th

When do SJS Applications become available?

They become available in mid-March and you can pick up an Application at our office or when a representative comes to the school during specific Lunch hours.
